  8. G3 & G4 Temperature CSM is a Control Strip Module that shows the core processor temperature of the G3 or G4 processor.

  10. Compatibility

  12. This CSM should work on any late-model Macintosh.  It is known to work on the AGP G4, DV iMac, and iBook.

  14. Installing the CSM

  16. If you are using Mac OS 8.5 or earlier, you must drag the Control Strip Module to the Control Strip folder inside your System folder.  If you are using Mac OS 8.6 or later, the Mac OS will recognize the Control Strip - merely drag it to your System Folder, and the Mac OS will move it automatically for you.

  18. With Mac OS 8.5 or earlier:

  20. 1)  Open your System folder.
  21. 2)  Copy the Control Strip Module to the Control Strip Folder in your System folder.
  22. 3)  Restart your computer.

  24. Configuring the CSM

  26. Once you've installed the CSM, you can configure it to match your personal preferences.

  42. The popup menu lets you control the appearance of the Control Strip.

  44. Display as Celsius (Fahrenheit and Kelvin)
  45. You can change which temperature scale is used, between Centigrade, Fahrenheit and Kelvin.

  47. Reset Measurement History
  48. The CSM will record the minimum and maximum temperatures.  You can reset these readings by choosing this menu item.

  50. Display Processor Temperature
  51. When selected, shows the core processor temperature.
